Social Safety Net Program

The members of the ultra and hardcore poor are being given priority for the implementation of this program. The objectives of the social safety net program are to empower the women of ultra poor and ethnic communities through raising social awareness and building their coping skills to address natural disasters and mitigate Monga for improving their livelihood.

Microfinance Program

Since 1986, ASOD has been successfully operating microfinance program with its own funds in Gangachara Upazila of Rangpur District, the most disaster prone areas in the northern region of Bangladesh. The main objective of this activity is to create opportunities for self-employment and income generation through improve IGA skill and increase internal /external resource mobilization for the ultra poor and vulnerable communities.

In addition to present activities, ASOD are also providing essential health services (general treatment, reproductive health-antenatal/ postnatal and Neonatal care), Preventive measure for HIV, AIDS and STD address malnutrition, sanitation and family hygiene through providing satellite clinic and community hospital services for the ultra poor and vulnerable community in disaster poor areas of Bangladesh.
